STEP BY STEP TO START

Step 1. Contact Us

Initial Consultation in Sacramento: $300

The first consultation with the doctor is usually one hour long which involves the following:

• An orientation to BHRT will provide you an overview of the potential benefits from this therapy.
• Prioritizing the potential benefits you might receive will guide the doctor in customizing a hormonal screening to meet your health goals and expectations.
• A review of your medical history, in consultation with our Medical Director, will rule out genetic traits, disease states or other contraindications which could exacerbate any current or potential medical conditions if BHRT is initiated.
• We will identify any potential therapies which might offer you additional protection from certain types of cancer.
• The literature we provide to you will offer balanced guidance on your decision whether to proceed to hormonal screening. We will discuss a range of costs for BHRT, and outline an ongoing programme to monitor your hormonal balance and lifestyle progress.
• Your initial consultation can be done individually, or with your spouse present if you prefer.  Alternatively, a double appointment can be scheduled ($350) for you and your spouse to attend an initial screening, whether the consultations are handled privately or as a couple. 

Step 2. Blood Test and Evaluation

To accurately determine your hormone deficiencies and tailor a customized programme just for you, it is important to have your lab test results for your second visit. You can access the nearest lab location from this link: www.labcorp.com/psc/index.html

The fee for the baseline labs and interpretation depends on your goals and which hormones we will be testing. Your follow-up office visit with the doctor is included in your initial lab costs.

When our office receives your results in about 7 days, you will have your next visit with the doctor who will interpret your hormone levels with you, match them with your current symptoms and answer any of your questions. At this time the doctor can determine what you need based on the results of your tests, your health goals and expectations.

Step 3. The Start of Your Personalized Bioidentical Hormone Therapy Program

If you desire, after your initial evaluation, our staff will order your prescriptions hormones and pharmaceutical grade supplements for you which will arrive at our office in about 3 to 4 days. You will return to our office at that time for another evaluation which includes:

• Comprehensive history and physical.
• Hormone teaching and demonstration of administration.
• Comprehensive nutrition assessment and recommendations for dietary strategies for weight loss and change in body composition.
• Pharmaceutical grade supplement and vitamin recommendations.
• Fitness and exercise counseling.
• Stress reduction techniques.
• Cancer surveillance and preventive diagnostic exam recommendations.
• Review of Body Mass Index and/or Body Bioimpedance analysis.

You will leave the office with the full knowledge of all your hormones and what you need to start your anti-aging therapy programme.

The cost of your customized compounded hormones depends on what the doctor determines you need based on your lab tests, your health goals and your choice of treatment.

Step 5. Your Personalized Follow Up Treatment

After four weeks of treatment, you will have a follow-up consultation with the doctor either in the office or by telephone. Before we meet for your follow up visits, we request that you obtain your hormone levels. We will mail your lab slip to you to help you.

Once we receive your test results, the doctor will review your new hormone levels with you, and with your subjective feedback on your progress, adjust the doses of your hormones accordingly.

We will repeat this process about twice a year to always keep your hormones at the optimal range for each so you see the benefits you are seeking.

Your medications will be shipped directly to your home or address you give us once your labs are completed and your preventive diagnostic evaluations are current. For your convenience, subsequent consultations can be done either at our office or by conference call.
